Japanese electronic commerce company Rakuten has announced the launch of a brand new marketplace for non-fungible tokens.
The eCommerce giant is set to launch one of the newest and most promising NFT online platforms in the form of Rakuten NFT. According to the announcement, they are taking the new platform very seriously and they have plans to expand services to include a peer-to-peer minting and selling service in 2023.
Rakuten, as you might know, is no stranger to the world of blockchain solutions and cryptocurrencies, previously launching its own crypto exchange back in 2019, and last year it even started accepting cryptocurrencies in its Rakuten Pay accounts, so it’s fair to say that they are very open to digital markets, but this is the first time they have dipped their toes into the world of Non-Fungible Tokens.
According to Rakuten, theirs is set to be one of the best NFT online platforms yet. It will provide users with the ability to buy NFTs and eventually they will be able to use peer-to-peer services to sell too.
The company is aiming to cover a wide range of sectors from the entertainment industry to global sports markets, and of course anime. Theirs is a unique platform that will allow IP holders to create their own websites to sell their own NFTs.
It will also be possible for users to make purchases via their Rakuten ID which means customers will be able to earn Rakuten points on all of their NFT purchases too. So, this is definitely one to watch.
